Welcome to Educate Amboseli

2009 News
Educate Amboseli is excited to have received 501(c)(3) charitable status.
We are in the process of raising funds to sponsor our students for another year of school. We also hope to raise enough funds to build a women's workshop for their beadwork. The sale of beadwork is the primary source of income for most Maasai families.
2008 News
Educate Amboseli sponsored 17 children this past school year.

Ilkangere Village Water Pump
Clean, fresh water is hard to find in Amboseli. Fresh water pumps that tap underground springs from Mt. Kilimanjaro are the only source of clean water in Amboseli and can be built for $1000. We raised enough funds to build two fresh water pumps. The Enkongu Narok Primary School replaced its salt water pump with a fresh water one. The pump is used by the school, including the teachers who live there, as well as nearby villages. The other pump is for villages around the Eilkankere swamp area.
Educate Amboseli raised $1300 for food relief to help the villages during a severe drought. The money helped feed the villages of Amboseli until the rainy season came.
2007 News
In June 2007, the Amboseli Maasai School Project Club at the American School in London raised $1200 for Educate Amboseli. The annual indoor soccer tournament (four a-side) was a great success with maximum participation. This soccer tournament was originally set up to complement the annual Scott and Jacob Cup held in Amboseli. Concession sales and a private donation by an ASL family helped to bring the amount raised to a record level. This money allowed Educate Amboseli to send ten children to school for a year, build a basketball court at the Enkongu Narok Primary School, and purchase 20 new desks and books for the school. Thank you to all the participants of the tournament their generosity.
